Adhesive care 101: retention that actually lasts
Adhesive is the most sensitive product in your kit, and the least forgiving. A great glue stored badly performs worse than an average glue kept correctly.
Storage
Keep sealed adhesive upright, at room temperature, away from sunlight and bathrooms. Once opened, most adhesives are at their best for four to six weeks — write the open date on the bottle so you're never guessing.
Humidity & dwell time
Cyanoacrylate cures with moisture in the air. Too dry and it grabs slowly; too humid and it flashes off before you place the fan. A room hygrometer takes the mystery out of a bad retention day.
- Shake well before each session to blend the resin.
- Refresh your glue dot every 15–20 minutes.
- Nano-mist and fully cure at the end of every set.
Dial these in and retention becomes boringly consistent — exactly what you want.
